Justice Chaudhry was addressing representatives of the National Defence University (NDU) on their visit to the Supreme Court.
He said that the constitution has clearly outlined the role of the armed forces, adding that the military has taken oath to protect the constitution of the country along with its borders.
The chief justice said that every institute should work within their defined boundaries without interfering in the work of others, and that this practice will guarantee lasting democracy in the country.
Justice Chaudhry also added that it was the duty of the court to take action against any institute if it subjugates the constitution and the law.
