The birth of a zebra foal on 11.11.11 took everyone at Marghazar Zoo by surprise on Friday.
It was predicted by the experts that 11.11.11 would break the birth records around the world and the date might impact the lives of newborns as well.
Talking to APP, Dr Bilal from Environment Wing of Capital Development Authority (CDA) said that the foal was born to a pair of zebras which was brought to the zoo in 2006. About the sex of zebra, Dr Bilal said, “Normally we disclose the identity of animal after keeping it under observation for few days. However, it seems to be a boy.”
“We have kept the baby in an attached room with his mother and will monitor him for 10 to 12 days. We will reveal his characteristics to the general public after that,” he said.
The visitors are not being allowed to see the foal, he added.
