Robber on the Run: ‘Thief’ jumps out of police van

Thief was caught red handed while breaking the locks of Iftikhar Ahmad’s house.

FAISALABAD:

An alleged thief escaped from a police van in the limits of Gulberg police station on Friday. According to police officials, Awami Colony resident Qasim was caught red handed while breaking the locks of Iftikhar Ahmad’s house.

Residents of the area caught the accused and beat him severely before handing him over to Gulberg police. The police was taking Qasim to the police station when he jumped out of the police van and fled. Gulberg Station House Officer (SHO) Abid Zafar claimed that the people themselves released the thief after torturing him instead of handing him over to the police.
