Irrigation: Farmer killed over canal water

FAISALABAD: A farmer was shot and killed in Tarkhani area on Thursday allegedly over a dispute on distribution of canal water. Police said Muhammad Yousuf, a resident of Chak No42-GB, had an argument with Muhammad Zahid over division of canal water between their fields. On Thursday, Zahid and his three accomplices allegedly shot Yousuf and fled from the scene. A case has been registered against the suspects under Section 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
