No fuel: CNG stations to stay closed for two days
Gas supply to all CNG stations of Faisalabad will be stopped at 6:00 am on Friday, restored at 6:00 am on Sunday.
FAISALABAD:
A two-day gas closure will start on Friday morning for about 350 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations of Faisalabad.
Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has chalked out a load management plan to overcome the gas shortfall. Under the plan, gas supply to all CNG stations of Faisalabad will be stopped at 6:00 am on Friday and restored at 6:00 am on Sunday.
In a statement, an SNGPL spokesman on Thursday asked the operators of CNG outlets not to supply gas to vehicles during the scheduled closure, adding action would be taken against those violating the directive.
Protesting against the move, a spokesman for the CNG Station Owners Association said the suspension of gas supply for two days in a week was affecting their business badly. “The government should take notice of this situation and exempt CNG stations from the gas load management schedule,” he demanded.
