QUETTA: Meat ‘scavengers’, people who collected beef and mutton from various areas of the city during Eidul Azha, sold the products at low prices in various locations of Quetta, attracting a large number of customers.

The purchasers included those who had not ‘sacrificed’ an animal and cannot afford to buy meat for their families at market prices. Muhammad Tufail, a customer who had bought mutton from  a ‘clearance sale’ at Quetta’s popular Meezan Chowk told Roznama Express that he “could not imagine buying mutton at regular prices on a normal occasion,” but finding it being sold at a low cost, he bought some for his family to celebrate eid.
