Punjab government's ban on collecting hides displeases MQM
MQM alleged that the Punjab government is “afraid” of the increasing popularity of MQM in the province, in a statement released by the coodination committee.
The committee also said that all the banned militant outfits are collecting hides but the KKF was prohibited from doing so.
Earlier, while addressing to the workers in Karachi MQM chief Altaf Hussain said that MQM will give “surprising results” in the next elections.
He also said that the opposition party should not damage the democratic process.

@Latif: The fact is that the "government" placed them on ban list and they were not allowed to collect donation in terms of hides. Yet these organizations managed to set up hundreds of camps in Lahore alone (as ET reports). Implementation of any law or a decision by Fed gov is the responsibility of the provincial gov's, which PML-N seem to have failed in this regard. We have earlier seen Rana Sanaullah's pics with these guys so it is quite evident what the true motive is. Chill!!
I must give due credit to ZM for all the true and eye-opening comments that are emerging in this post. This was not thinkable a couple of month ago.

Please remind me of any activities of PMLN in Karachi? Or any other party for that matter (except PPP)? In fact, a PMLN office holder was tied to his bed and burned in Sindh after Shahbaz sharif's statement that Zardari should be hanged. And besides, in what universe is MQM's popularity increasing in Punjab? Do you remember MQM's jalsa in Lahore? In case you dont, there's a good reason for it ---> it was an unmitigated disaster. 3000 people in attendance, 2000-2500 of which were brought from karachi.

Heart rending to see how PML N is creating hurdle to bar MQM to work for the humanity.
That is ridiculous. You should never stop anyone who wants to do something good from doing it. I doubt the Punjab Govt has made arrangements for the collection of hides. Expect them to be lying around on the street now. But having said that, maybe the MQM KKF should focus on picking up hides in Karachi then. Last year I was there during Eid, and they were all over the place, attracting disease and spectators from all over.
Does MQM collect hides for charity work or to project its political profile?

So much for the popularity of mqm in punjab. There have been 13 bye elections all over punjab in the last 3.5 years and mqm has not contested from any one if them.
We have to wait for the punjab govt's version of the story. As for MQM, it has always taken help of propaganda as its main tool of politics.

the pml-n should take such precautions to ensure that punjab also doesn't get the problem of target killings and bhatta khori.this is a positive step in the right direction.

If you read through the given thoroughly, it is Interior Ministry of Pakistan not Punjab Gov has allowed JD to collect the hides.........I am not the fan of Sharifs but get the facts right!
So nothing astonoshing in the story, as they openly say,they will not allow "OUT SIDERS" to enter in Punjab or Lahore,because they belong to the "son of the soil",and Pakistan is their "BAAP KI JAGIR"So let them enjoy this year.
I am not an MQM supporter (in fact a critic) but to not allow MQM and give full freedom to banned terrorist organisations and its supporters (Jud and LeT etc) is and open proof for the world community to believe that PAK nation supports terrorist org and harbors and funds them.
