Homecoming: Youth kills father over allowance

Youth asked for some money; refusal infuriated Muneer who shot his father and fled the scene.

FAISALABAD: A young man killed his father after the latter returned from the US recently. According to police officials, Mithianwala Chak No 140-RB resident Muneer Akhtar had been residing in the US for the past 25 years and returned home three months ago. According to the police, Athar’s son Ghazanfar alias ‘Guddoo’ asked him for some money but Muneer refused. The refusal infuriated Muneer who shot his father and fled the scene. Athar was shifted to Allied Hospital in critical condition and doctors said that he died within an hour of being brought in. “He was shot in the chest at point blank range,” said Dr Rahman. Police officials have registered a case and are searching for the accused.
