FAISALABAD: The district administration has launched a drive against encroachers and cleared squatters’ settlements from Chowk Jhal Khanuana to Ehsan Yousuf Road on Friday and Saturday. According to district officials, Madina Town administrator Maryam Khan, tehsil municipal officer (TMO) Najma Warraich and the RTA staff secretary also removed encroachments from Hurrianwala Chowk mosque and demolished dozens of illegal structures. TMO officer Warraich said that the drive would continue throughout the month of November and all illegal structures will be removed. “We have issued warnings to shop keepers in this regard and they have been given more than two weeks notice to clear out,” she added.
