Athletics: Army, WAPDA dominate event
Winning the 100-metre sprint at the National Athletics Championship.

Army’s Liaqat Ali underlined his credentials by winning the 100-metre sprint at the National Athletics Championship in a time of 10.79 seconds, adding to his 200m crown. Meanwhile, Yasir Ali won the 400m event and Sajid Hussain won gold in the 1,500m. In women’s events, Wapda’s Sumaira Tayyaba won gold in the 100m and 200m, as well as a gold in 100m hurdles. Overall, Army won 16 out of 19 golds in men’s events and Wapda’s women won eight golds in their draw.
