Fun-Filled Activity: Children become bakers for a day

LAHORE:

Toddlers from Kids Kampus, Gadaffi Stadium spent three days dressed in aprons and chef caps at Cinnabon, the American chain famous for its cinnamon rolls.

Amidst the rolling, cutting and spreading cream on the dough, the young students coloured away and got their faces painted as part of Bake-a-Bon day.

Bake-a-Bon is a new promotional package by Cinnabon that aims at getting children more involved in the baking process.

The three-day event that ended on Thursday attracted preschoolers from Kids Kampus along with their teachers in a baking marathon.

Five-year-old Rayan stole a little lick of the icing before declaring that he wants to be a baker when he grows up. “I liked spreading the filling the most,” he said. Mashal, a young baker for the day chimed in, saying that she enjoyed cutting the dough the most.

Kabeer, another first grader, said that baking was not “girly”. “I liked it a lot. Also, I got to have a chocolate chillatta.”

Everyone, including the teachers and attendants seemed to be having a lot of fun.

Zarish Hasan, a teacher at Kids Kampus, said “Cinnabon is giving the kids a chance to make their own rolls. It is so good to see them having so much fun.”

“We have tapered everything down to what a 5-year-old can handle,” says Zahra Sohail, marketing manager at Cinnabon.

The marketing manager said that parents and teachers did not need to worry about the children’s safety being ensured.”
