Busted: Four held for robbery
The Sihala police on Wednesday arrested four persons including an alleged robber and seized weapons from their possession.
In the first incident, three armed men entered a house and looted cash, jewellery, cell phones and other valuables worth Rs248,000. When the homeowner tried to resist them, they beat him and fled while firing in the air.
A patrolling policeman overheard the gunshots, chased the robbers and overpowered one of them. Meanwhile, the same police arrested three men for possessing unlicensed weapons.
The police said that they intercepted Aamir Farooq, Liaqat Ali and Feroz Khan during patrolling in different areas and seized weapons. from them.
