LAHORE: At least 70 sacrificial goats were killed on Wednesday when a trailer carrying them to Lahore’s cattle market overturned near Rahim Yar Khan, Express 24/7 reported.

A total of 292 goats were being transported from Khairpur Ghotki to Lahore for Eidul Azha.

Around 70 goats were killed and many injured, deeming them unsuitable for sale as sacrificial animals, in the accident.

The owner of the herd blamed the driver for the incident, saying he had dozed off and lost control of the vehicle.

He claimed that he had incurred a loss of up to three million rupees.
