QUETTA: A nine-year-old girl was recovered by Police in Quetta after her neighbours reported that she had been beaten by her 'in-laws'.

According to Express News reporter Khalil Ahmad, the nine year old girl, Shabana, was sold by her father to his friend two years back. Her father who was a heroin addict sold her for Rs20,000 and then reportedly left for Afghanistan. The girl was then married to his friend's nine-year-old son.

According to reports, the parents would hit the girl when she would misbehave in the house. After one such event, the girl ran away to a neighbouring house, from where she was taken to the police station by concerned members of the household. The police have picked up both the young boy and his father from their home in this regard.
