Recognition: Japanese government awards local clinic
The Japanese government has given an award to a local clinic for their outstanding contribution to promote friendship and goodwill between the peoples of Japan and Pakistan. A ceremony to present the award to Otsuka Welfare Clinic was held at the residence of Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Oe on Tuesday, said a press release issued by the Japanese embassy on Monday.
The award was received by Otsuka Pakistan Chief Executive Officer Abid Hussain.
Ambassador Hiroshi congratulated the doctors and nursing staff on receiving the award in “recognition of their remarkable contribution for the welfare of the society”.
The clinic has provided free medical services to approximately 600,000 Afghan refugees and local residents of Peshawar and nearby areas.
