Football: PIA wins courtesy Shahzad’s goal

The win allowed PIA to leapfrog Muslim FC and move into third place with 42 points.

KARACHI:


PIA defeated NBP 1-0 in their Pakistan Premier Football League match in Karachi, while Baloch FC were awarded three points as a result of a walk-over against Police, who failed to show up at the venue in Noushki. Ali Azeem Shahzad scored the winner for PIA in the 30th minute.


The win allowed PIA to leapfrog Muslim FC and move into third place with 42 points.  Meanwhile, NBP are now in sixth place with 37 points, Baloch FC have moved up to 10th spot with 22 points and Police have slipped to 12th position with 20 points.

KRL remain the league leaders with Afghan FC occupying second place.
