Members of the Gilgit-Baltistan cabinet on Sunday condemned the “abusive language” used by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif against President Asif Ali Zardari in his speech at a public rally in Lahore last week.
At a joint news conference at the Gilgit-Baltistan House in Islamabad on Sunday, five cabinet members denounced Sharif who, in his speech, had blamed President Zardari for the current mess in the country and threatened him to resign or else PML-N supporters would “hang him upside down at Bhati Gate (in Lahore).”
The G-B cabinet members who addressed the news conference were: G-B’s Finance Minister Muhammad Ali Akhter, Local Government Minister Engineer Muhammad Ismail, Works and Development Minister Muhammad Nasir Khan, Chief Minister’s Adviser on Tourism and Mining Sadia Danish, Aftab Haider and member G-B Legislative Assembly Muhammad Ayub Shah and GB council member Amjad Hussain advocate.
Akhtar told journalists that the use of “abusive language” by a responsible political leader against a constitutionally elected president was condemnable.
