ICC Standings: Ajmal achieves career-best ranking

Ajmal’s spin partner Abdul Rehman also gained two places and is now in the 29th position.

Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has achieved his career-best ranking in the International Cricket Council Player Rankings for Test bowlers after producing a man-of-the-match performance in the second Test.

Ajmal had figures of three for 45 and five for 68, which have helped him become the highest-ranked Pakistan bowler in the 16th position after jumping eight places. Ajmal’s spin partner Abdul Rehman also gained two places and is now in the 29th position, while left-arm fast-bowler Junaid Khan has vaulted 21 places to claim the 46th position. Batsman Azhar Ali climbed to the 27th spot in the batsmen’s rankings.
