The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP), in response to its international gallop tender floated on October 21, has awarded contracts for import of 215,000 tons of urea at $538 per ton, including cost and freight, to four different bidders.
In an announcement on Saturday, TCP said 10 bidders responded to the tender and quoted prices ranging from $538 to $559 per ton, including cost and freight.
Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) offered the lowest price at $538 per ton for 50,000 tons, conforming to the technical specifications and evaluation criteria given in the tender documents. The TCP said three more bidders, whose bids were higher than the lowest offer, also agreed to match the lowest price of $538 per ton for the quantities offered by them.
