LAHORE:

The Punjab government has objected to the federal government repatriating 15 senior officers without the provincial government’s consent, The Express Tribune has learnt.

The officers, who have all been posted to Balochistan, include 13 police and two DMG officials. However, they are still serving in the Punjab.

The Services and General Administration department has sent a letter to the Establishment Division objecting that the repatriated officials did not fall in the categories mentioned in the rotation policy. It has asked the Establishment Division to explain why the officials were transferred form the province, said a senior official requesting anonymity.

On October 20, the Establishment Division notified the repatriation of 13 police and two DMG officials from the Punjab. Among them are two DMG officers: Wildlife director general, Zafar Nasrullah (BS-20); and Rawalpindi DCO, Saqib Zafar (BS-19). The PSP officials are: Captain (retired) Muhammad Zubair (BS-21); BS-19 officers Ghulam Rasool Zahid, Muhammad Farooq Mazhar, Muhammad Azim Arshad, Abdul Qadir Qayyum, Ashar Hameed, Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, Muhammad Ehsan Younas and Shehzad Aslam Siddiqui, and others that include Salaman Ali Khan, Dr Muhammad Atif Akram, Owais Ahmad and Mehboob Rashid.
