PCB chairman Ijaz Butt accepted skipper Shahid Afridi's resignation from Test cricket, and asked Muhammad Yousuf to rejoin the team in England for the second test match between Pakistan and Australia.

Ijaz Butt said that Afridi will not play in the second Test against Australia, but will continue to lead the national Twenty20 and ODI teams.

Yousuf had announced his retirement a few months ago. Sources said that Ijaz Butt has requested Yousuf to change his decision and rejoin the national cricket team.

MOhammed Anwerzada | 14 years ago | Reply It is a shame how Pakistan Cricket is put in the hands of people like Butt. What is difficult to get is how in the world is he planning for future of cricket in Pakistan. We base out team on few individuals like Afridi or Akmals but the fact of the matter is we need better team then players who can support each other rather than politics. I feel very depressed because as it is international cricket council really does not like Pakistan and India is doing whatever it can to destroy it as well.
