Jemima joins Imran Khan for anti-drone rally
She was forced to leave the press club after media men surrounded her. The incident caused Imran Khan suspended the press conference while he explained that Jemima had arrived in Pakistan to take part in the movement against US drone attacks which he said were targeting the civilian population in tribal areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Dressed in Shalwar Kameez, the traditional dress of Pakistani women, Jemima expressed solidarity with the victims of the drone attacks.
She has worked for charities, raising funds, and as a human rights campaigner while contributes for British newspapers and magazines.
Imran Khan informed media that Jemima would produce a documentary for a British TV channel on the drone strikes besides participating in his anti-US rally being held in Islamabad on Friday (today). He said her efforts will help highlighting the plight of drone victims among international community.
She will also be giving cameras to tribal leaders, allowing them to gather photographic evidence of drone strikes and their impact.
Jemima has previously faced accusations of smuggling in Pakistan. Despite the dissolution of their marriage, Jemima has continued to support Khan's political aspirations and participated in rallies.

Drone thing has to be solved involving international entities. Imran can do this the best. He has the most potential for globalisation. When you will be connected globally all the problems will be gone automatically.

Your rather bureaucratic argument fails to take into consideration that it may be possible for the operator of the drone to fire at a place thought to have militants and in the process kill civilians because A) there was no militants and all civilians or B) there were a few militants with thrice the number of innocent civilians or C) i frankly dont need a C given the above two and the empirical data in support of them. You talk as if you havent destroyed Iraq in the process of looking for Saddam, or Afghanistan for Bin Laden or even Libya for Gaddafi, and the many different countries around the world before them.( I say you because what you wrote seems to give the impression that you are from the Armed forces of the U.S, and i have met many a propagandized individuals from the same). Anywho COLLATTERAL DAMAGE in which INNOCENTS DIE is Criminal, especially when there are other ways of dealing with the menace. And the Pakistanis apologizing with their twisted logics are as disgusting as the menace itself.
Why was there a need to mention "Jemima has previously faced accusations of smuggling in Pakistan," at the end of the article? It had nothing to do with the rest of the message. Additionally, the writer just threw our the claim, without any substantiation whatsoever. Completely unprofessional, and something that should be checked by the Tribune.

You are a brave and God fearing lady and your charity works both in Pakistan and Afghanistan are known to all. Be careful from your ex husband Mr. Imran Khan who is now not less than a Drone himself. I hope you will ask him not to show any sympathy to terrorists both homegrown and those in Afghanistan.
Jemima shouldn't be so dare-devil as to walk and move around without adeaquate security during her stay in pakistan. Pakistan is already facing neck-deep problems and any untoward incident, such as her feared kidnap for ransom will put her former hubby in trouble. This is just a friendly advice for her own safety.
If they were targeting non-militants I can think of a number extremely annoying people that probably wouldn't be alive. Even from a detached perspective, there's just nothing to be gained from it. If they were hitting civilians, the US itself would stop it without outside influence. Just like most jobs, performance matters in whether or not you keep your job. Missiles and drones cost money. The primary target is militants. That should not be debatable regardless of your opinion of the US. You've got to be pretty dumb to not think it's at the top of the list. Hitting civilians means the person doing the firing is not doing his job. He'd be replaced.
Both from a human perspective and objective one, anyone who thinks they're being targeted is not mentally competent enough to lead any country if they can't even look at such a simple situation as whole. Nothing with humans is ever a straight line. You have to factor in every last aspect.
He's already failing to deliver without being elected. You can say you want change but if your focus are situations that don't actually exist in reality it's the same as doing nothing.

Good to see Jamima Khan especially when we are sleeping. We need to support Imran. We need fair leadership if you people want to see Pakistan in the map of the world. Otherwise our leaders will sell Pakistan for few dollars.

@Khalid, your comment displays another problem common with many of us (read Pakistanis). We chant slogans, that are pleasing to the point of excitement, but we do not have any policy to realize them. Read your statement again and think; does it make any sense, respect!
It is not some abstract noun like Pride/ nationalism/ patriotism etc which can stop or trigger drone attacks on us, but our policy. Every nation needs leverages to protect herself from invasions and promote her interests. Despite Mumbai Attacks, India did not wage a war against us not because we were patriots, but because of the fact that Bhutto in 1970s made a policy on how to make Pakistan nuclear. Had he just fooled himself (and others) with verbal patriotism and pride (like you did), we would have been under attack. All of us need to come out of rhetoric and start thinking on policy making (and institutional strengthening in Pakistan).
We need leverages and policies of international importance. To have a good repute amongst the comity of nations, and to have friendly nations is a good tool and media plays an important role in that. Having said that, please revisit your opinion and let us welcome Jemima in Pakistan.
Why she came for support of Imran only. After their separation she has same relation with Imran as with all other people of Pakistan. Why she not came for other strikes in Pakistan, or there is no need to be advertised in US of all other events.

Jemima Khan has been taught well by Imran Khan. May be she was always the courageous type but she has definitely progressed into a mature and LOVELY woman. She says good things about Pakistan and loves Pakistan. She is a good woman at heart and its good to see her back in Pakistan. Wish she would stick around and work actively for Imran Khan's election.

Good to see Jemima back in Pakistan, helping out Imran Khan, and raiseing awareness about U.S. drones attacks.
They would need extra chairs in VIP enclosure, if all ex started pouring in.
How can drone attacks be intentionally targeting civilians when the overwhelming majority of those killed are militants? Perhaps Ms. Jemima should take a tour of South and North Waziristan to herself assess the situation before making inane comments and spreading misinformation.
