More PML-Q members join PML-N

Three members of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) joined Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday, reported Express 24/7.

The members include Mian Mumtaz Ahmed and Chaudhry Masood Khan from Rahim Yar Khan and Chaudhry Saeed Ahmed Gujjar from Sahiwal. They are also former members of the Punjab Assembly.

They announced their decision after meeting Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

During their meeting, they expressed their confidence on the leadership of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and said that only PML-N can resolve all the problems of masses.

Some members of the PML-Q dissident faction left their party to join Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI). The decision to split away from the faction was made after several members of PML-Q likeminded felt annoyed with their leadership’s decision to join the PML-N.

Earlier, the members of the PML-Q likeminded group divided into two factions over the decision to form a political alliance during a core committee meeting on Saturday. One group led by Senator Saleem Saifullah insisted upon joining the PML-N while the other one led by Khurshid Kasuri preferred PTI.

The Kasuri faction comprising members of the core committee, Hamid Nasir Chattha, Mian Asif, Lala Nisar, tried to convince Saifullah to ally with the PTI, while Saifullah’s faction comprising Humayun Akhtar, Kashmala Tariq and others made equally unsuccessful attempts to persuade them to join the PML-N.
