Punjab claim gold in national gymnastics

KARACHI: Punjab has won the gold medal in the National Women Gymnastics Championship at the Wapda Sports Complex in Lahore. Punjab women gymnasts won the event with a total of 52.15 points followed by Sindh at 36.40 points while Balochistan finished with 21.10. Sindh’s Sidra Shakir bagged the gold medal in the floor event, while in vaults Neelum Riaz stood first.

In the men’s Under-18 national gymnastics competition, Army won the gold medal while Punjab stood second. Sindh secured the bronze medal. While Army’s Faisal Iqbal was honored with two gold medals in floor with 12.9 points and vaulting at 15, Ansar Abbasi topped the pommel horse with 11.9 and high-bar event  scoring 11.3.
