Earthquake Relief: Punjab sends relief items to Turkey

We are also standing with our Turkish brethren in distress, says Shahbaz Sharif.

LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to send relief items for earthquake affected people in Turkey. A delegation led by Senior Advisor Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa will leave for Turkey along with relief items within the next 48 hours. This decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Monday. Senior Advisor Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, MPAs Khawaja Salman Rafique, Mohsin Latif, the chief secretary and the Planning and Development attended the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Sharif said Pakistan and Turkey had deep cultural and historic relations and Turkey has always helped Pakistan in an hour of trial. He said, “We are also standing with our Turkish brethren in distress.” He directed the chief secretary to immediately give final shape to the arrangements for sending the relief items which included tents and medicines. The relief items will be sent to Turkey by a special plane.
