SUKKUR: A 20-foot breach in the Langarji Minor near Mehrabpur and a 50-foot breach in Bambli Minor near Sangrar swept dozens of houses and agricultural land under water. According to sources, on Sunday a 10-foot wide breach occurred near RD-148 in Bambli Minor. This breach destroyed the cotton crop and the Umeed Ali Shah village. As the water current became stronger, the breach widened by another 40-feet, the villagers were forced to plug the breach by themselves. Sources claim that the embankments of the Langarji Minor have become weak because of farming.
