Session adjourned due to lack of quorum
Only 10 out of 65 lawmakers show up for scheduled meeting.
QUETTA:
With a meagre 10 out of a total of 65 lawmakers turning up on Saturday, the Balochistan Assembly proceedings were adjourned due to lack of quorum.
The session which kicked-off following a 15-minute delay, was chaired by Deputy Speaker Matiullah Agha. After the recitation of the Holy Quran, Ghulam Jan Baloch drew the attention of the house towards the lack of quorum.
With a mandatory attendance of 17 lawmakers required to complete the quorum, the secretary assembly informed the house that just five were in attendance. Hence, the proceedings had to be adjourned.
PPP minister-without-portfolio Abdul Rehman Jamali took the floor and said there were at least 55 ministers and advisers in the cabinet who are bound to attend the scheduled meeting of the provincial assembly.
