Fraud Allegations: Two accused of issuing bogus cheques
Police said cases of bounced cheques were on the rise in the district

Police have registered separate cases on Thursday against two people for issuing bogus cheques to the complainants. In his FIR Tahir has stated that a cheque worth Rs300,000 given to him by Hafeez bounced when he tried to cash it a few days ago. Similarly, a Rs80,000 cheque issued to Ghulam Fatima by Hasena Bibi was found bogus when the former tried to cash it. Police said cases of bounced cheques were on the rise in the district and that police would ensure that the culprits were not let go without a penalty.
