Quaid Trophy: Khurram’s ton helps NBP win

Batsman makes 105 not out as Abbottabad beaten in Quaid Trophy.

Khurram Manzoor hit an unbeaten 105 to lead NBP to a convincing eight-wicket win over Abbottabad on the third day of their Quiad-i-Azam Trophy match. Manzoor hit 16 fours in his 136-ball knock as NBP knocked off the 219-run target in the 42nd over. Abbottabad, who led by 33 runs in the first-innings, were earlier bowled out for 185 courtesy Mohammad Talha’s five-for.

Wapda sense win

Wapda were on the verge of victory after reaching 151 for three against Karachi Blues, needing another 59 runs to win on the final day. Riffatullah was 74 not out and Bilal Khilji made an unbeaten 59 after Wapda bowled out Karachi for 284 in the second innings.

Sialkot in trouble

ZTBL needed another six wickets to win as Sialkot reached 195 for four, in pursuit of a mammoth 527-run total. Faisal Khan was dismissed for 73 as ZTBL sensed victory after declaring on 502 for nine in their second-innings.

Rawalpindi stare at defeat

Rawalpindi were staring at a huge defeat after being reduced to 159 for seven against HBL. Fahad Masood claimed three for 32 after HBL were bowled out 376 in their second-innings to set a 330-run target.

Islamabad impress

Afaq Rahim hit 127 as Islamabad piled on the runs against SBP, reaching 239 for one to gain a lead of 322. SBP were earlier dismissed for 193.

Meanwhile, the match between PIA and Faisalabad headed towards a draw with Farrukh Shahzad stroking 128. Faisalabad were 374 for five after PIA made 396 in their first-innings.
