COAS presides over Formation Commanders meeting in Rawalpindi

Pak-US ties and security threats to Pakistan discussed during meeting.

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani presided over a meeting of the Formation Commanders at the military headquarters in Rawalpindi, Express 24/7 reported Thursday.

The meeting was held just hours before US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton’s arrival in Islamabad.

Pak-US ties and security threats to Pakistan were discussed in the meeting.

The Formation Commanders were also briefed about the resolution passed at the All Parties Conference.

An Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said that the forum was given comprehensive briefings on the security environment and professional matters.

The participants expressed satisfaction over operational preparedness of the army.

LOL, Pak has nasr, IBMS, and every other form of deterrence that Iraq and Afghanistan did not have (which is why they were attacked).

Liberal extremists engaged in wishful thinking. Iran is not scared. Pakistan is not scared. No one is scared.

To Hell with US and NATO, they are not GOD among us. They cannot decide other's fate. Where is weapons of mass destruction in IRAQ? Why did they fired qualified researchers and scholars from top universities who found out it was inside job?

Why do they put everything on Pakistan and muslims, they got no right to play god with others lives.....

Generral in Pakistan Mr Kayani and his no.2 ISI Chief have to think 10 times whether they have capability to hinder NATO intentions with threat of 'Nuclear Weapons' or fall in line to cleanse their 'sacred land' from Taliban who have become terrorists and playing havoc not only in Pakistan but world over attracting the wrath of the whole world. Mr Kayani should consider 'intentions' also with 'capability' while considering a threat perception, e.g., Pakistan can never match capability of China yet it feels safe because of intentions of China. So please consider giving peace a chance by considering intentions of NATO in making the world free from terrorists who are dangerous to existence of Pakistan itself. Your nuclear assets would neither work against terrorists nor against NATO SO PLEASE FORGET DISTINGUISHING PAKISTAN FROM IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN. To use your nuclear assets you need a very strong economy which you don't have. You have only Hobson's choice of helping in war against terror, making friendship with your neighbors and diverting your assets for peaceful development and prosperity of the people of Pakistan who need modern education and infrastructure matching with present day world. Your best friends Chinese are also gradually shifting from the path of confrontation and threat of war to peaceful negotiations and settlements with their neighbors and adversaries. Please awaken to the present day reality and avoid disaster.
