ABBOTABAD: A woman sought protection on Wednesday as she accused her maternal uncle for lodging a baseless FIR against her husband. Accompanied by her husband Waseem Yousaf, Rubi Habib, a resident of Jhelum, she told media that they married in court in March and since then, they are living in Nagri Tatrila village. She said she contacted her parents after the marriage, following which her maternal uncle Sarfraz Chaudhry visited their place and stayed with them for over a week. However, upon his return to Jhelum, Chaudhry lodged an FIR against Waseem for kidnapping her. Habib rejected her uncle’s allegations and said she was neither kidnapped nor forced to marry anyone. She also said that the Abbottabad police was harassing her in-laws following the FIR. She demanded that the police provide them protection.
