HBL first dismissed Rawalpindi for 161 and then were indebted to Shan Masood (58) and Ahmed Shahzad (45) for their 190-run lead.
Tanvir puts ZTBL in driving seat
ZTBL fought back superbly after being dismissed for just 121 in their first-innings, first by restricting Sialkot to just 97 and then piling up 361 for four the second time round. Sohail Tanvir took six wickets for just 19 runs while Mohammad Khalil grabbed the other four. Later, Sharjeel Khan scored a 186-ball 205 to put his side in a commanding position.
Karachi in trouble
Meanwhile, Karachi Blues were facing another defeat after they were reduced to 166 for five in their second-innings, a lead of just 91 over Wapda. Earlier, they dismissed Wapda for 219 with Sohail Khan grabbing four for 60.
NBP suffer poor day
Ahmed Jamal grabbed six NBP wickets and Fawad Khan scored 53 as Abbottabad eyed a win on the third day. NBP were dismissed for 189 in reply to Abbottabad’s 222 and the hosts went on to score 119 for five at close, 152 ahead with five wickets remaining.
SBP, meanwhile, stumbled in their first-innings and were placed at 166 for seven in reply to Islamabad’s 276 in the first-innings. Faisalabad, too, have a huge task on their hand to match PIA’s first-innings total of 396 as they reached 192 for two.
