Muhammad Amir Iqbal, joint secretary of the trust, said more than 700 animals were being kept at the cattle farm located in Bhains Colony, Landhi. The trust carries out collective sacrifice at the site on Eidul Azha.
Around 30-35 armed men had climbed into the farm at 4:00am by placing ladders on the boundary walls and took 17 people, two guards and 15 others present, hostage and tied them in a room. Mushtaq, the night in-charge, and others were also tortured by the armed men.
Weapons belonging to the guards, mobile phones and Rs50-60,000 cash was also taken from the farm.
The men brought a truck into the farm and used jute bags to build steps for loading the cattle.
The incident took place between 4:00am and 6:00am.
An FIR has been registered at Shah Latif police station by Abdul Waheed, who is the branch in-charge of the cattle farm, on behalf of the Salyani Welfare Trust.

This happens every year. That area brains colony is famous for dacoits. They don't run away with the cows...they keep them at their fams and no one can do anything. It's more like kidnapping the cows. They ask for ransom nd then they return the cows. It happened to my uncle last year.

@ gt Thank u brother your complement and by the way i love Chapli kababs its famous in KP. if u eat then be my guest if not then i am sorry man but still we make good vegeterian dishes too and i dont mind eating in one plate with any othere reliegen person.
Before "Special" group in Karachi used to fight on the collection of cow or goat skin, now it seems they have started new business of kidnapping the cows for skin :)
Holy Cow....what has Pakistan descended to?
The only lucid, intelligible & intelligent remark to ever come of Ali Tanoli!!! Laage raho Alibhai! All that ghabbar, haandi kabab, sondha kaleji, dil aur gurda & of course paya, must be working its magic!!
@ kulamarva Balakrishana, I have many breeds in living texas america but they way u put it seems hurts u more than that poor animals dont wory man we dont have to breeds we got lot bigger india and they have lot of these holy mathas for us..
Law and enforcement agencies in Karachi need to set up Bio-Metrics on its borders.
Vienna,19-10-2011 They are the earliest domesticated bovines, For the last 125 years and more Americans love them as Zebu Brahmin breed imported from India. Their meat is especially tasty but as pets they are worth their weight in gold.If only you export them, you can get more cash from America than from the langda mangoes you may earn for decades put together. You will replace Brazil and Argentina together as exporters of bovine meat.I am sad, they are made "shahid" for your festivities. @Rajendra kolkende, Its somple u worship in the name of reliegen and we eat them in the name of reliegen.
Wow.
its the cow's fault for getting in the truck.......maybe the cows hired the people to save them for slaughter.......on serious note.......this is just sad pakistan has become what europe was in middle ages........kill anyone who dares say a word against supposed beliefs or societal problems but lie, steal and cheat as if its your god given right.
do u believe this story?
They used to come for the Skin (Khaal) after the sacrifice, this time they took whole herd of cows in the Skin.
What NOT to expect from this city?
I am sure its all cooked up story. Employees of the trust must have sold the cows and cooked up this story to cover up their act. I have seen this happening in India on construction sites where they sell the building material and enact similar stories.
By the way I am against this sacrifice of cows in the name of religion... We Hindus worship cows...
@ Eid at gun point. You always make me laugh, ET.
The media should find a new term for these kind of incidents. What about Cattlenapping?
Appalling. Whats the world come to now, stealing cows from charity organizations?
One truck can not hold more than a couple of cows. So how big was the caravan of looters then? Obviously even if they left at early morning and were traveling hundreds of people would have seen them on road while escaping with 70 cows in so many trucks. If the place was hosting cows for other farmers/sellers then nab the owner beside asking for witnesses.
Among the other details of this appalling news item, what makes it even more sour to digest, that the animals belonged to "Salyani Welfare Trust"
This is the caliber of these people even in religious festival they have no respect for Islam, and I think I don't need to talk about law and order situation in Pakistan, we all have experience it.
Innallillahe wa innallillahe rajeoon
Yeh haal hoogaya hai?
Gun men + jute sacs = :)
not difficult to name the culprits, there are jute sacks involved.
Those are the best looking cows I've ever seen in my life.
