KARACHI: Pakistan enjoyed a day of mixed fortunes as they registered their second victory at the Bermuda Bowl World Bridge Team Championships when they defeated Singapore on the third day of the event, but followed it up with a loss against Guadalupe.

Pakistan had earlier won against Canada in the first round but then suffered consecutive defeats against Bulgaria, Sweden, Italy and Egypt in the following rounds.

After a 25-4 loss against the US2, the team picked up their game yesterday outplaying Singapore 18-12. However, the revival turned out to be temporary as the team suffered a 19-11 defeat against Guadalupe in the seventh round.

Pakistan needs 340 Victory Points (VPs) to get through to the knock-out stage. The team has so far earned only 86 VPs after seven rounds.
