2009 Mian Channu blast: Law enforcement agencies arrest suspected terrorist

Initial investigation reveals suspect received training from Afghanistan.

MIAN CHANNU: Law enforcement agencies arrested a suspected terrorist from Khanewal, believing he was a complicit in the 2009 bombing in Mian Channu, reported Express 24/7 Tuesday.

Sources said that the suspect Sajid Rehman was arrested from Abdul Hakeem area and initial interrogation revealed that Rehman took training from Afghanistan.

On July 13, 2009, at least 14 people were killed in a blast at a madrassa.

The bombing took place minutes after a class got over and the students were leaving the madrassa.

The blast created widespread destruction and destroyed several houses.
