‘First things first’: Kashmiri leader opposes MFN status

MIRPUR: India does not deserve the Most Favoured Nation status unless it accepts the ground reality about the negative repercussions of the Kashmir dispute and prepares for a peaceful resolution in line with the aspirations of its basic stake holders, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Liberation League (AJKLL) President Justice (Retd) Abdul Majeed Mallick said here on Monday. Speaking to his senior party associates from various parts of AJK, the Kashmiri leader said that although the resumption of talks between India and Pakistan was a welcome step, constructive measures should still be taken to reach a settlement of the Kashmir issue in line with the wishes of the people of Kashmir. He maintained that India almost always managed to side-step the Kashmir issue.
