Counter Terrorism: Punjab police gets Turkish cooperation
28 policemen have come back after receiving counter terrorism training in Turkey.
LAHORE:
Punjab Police is seeking Turkish National Police’s cooperation in various projects meant to enhance its counter terrorism expertise, Inspector General of Police Punjab (IGP) Javed Iqbal said on Monday. He was speaking at a reception held for a five member Turkish Police delegation. IGP Iqbal said that Turkey had been a victim of terrorism for several decades and that it had successfully combatted it with modern technology. He said the 28 policemen who had recently come back after receiving counter terrorism training in Turkey had started performing duties in the province. TNP Director General Ahmet Pek assured the IGP of his country’s support in combating terrorism.
