Pak-Korea: Garment tech institute inaugurated
Republic of Korea has attempted to help Pakistan with the establishment of garment technology institute

KARACHI:
Korean Ambassador Choong Joo Choi inaugurated the Pak-Korea Garment Technology Institute located in Korangi Industrial Zone on Monday. “Republic of Korea has attempted to help Pakistan with the establishment of garment technology institute,” the ambassador accompanied by Federal Minister for Textiles, Makhdoom Shahabuddin said. He said the institute was aimed to help Pakistan realise its potential, increase its foreign exchange earnings and provide more jobs to the people with new technology and efficient methodology. He also announced additional funding of $0.5million for the project. In his remarks, Shahabuddin said that the institute would be instrumental in skill development and job creation with the latest innovative technology. He hoped the institute would foster the relations of Pakistan with the South Koreans and said that the garment sector would benefit greatly through the new training institute.
