Khar meets Munter: US-Pak ties inch towards normalcy
Both the officials said that the two countries should make the most out of the forthcoming visit to Pakistan by the US Secretary of State.

Munter called on Khar at the foreign office in Islamabad today.
Both dignitaries discussed details of the forthcoming visit of US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton to Pakistan.
Sources said that the issues related to regional security and peace process in Afghanistan also came under discussion among the two leaders.
Agendas of the Istanbul and Bonn conferences were also discussed during the meeting.
Both the leaders acknowledged that Clinton’s visit should ease tension between Pakistan and the United States.
As reported earlier, Munter met with Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani to convey an ‘important message’ from the Obama administration concerning the Haqqani network.

The meeting was believed to have played a key role in cooling the rhetoric between the two sides following weeks of fiery statements on one of the most influential Afghan Taliban allied insurgent groups.
US officials confirmed the meeting, saying Ambassador Munter’s message from Washington was very clear: “The US wants to remain engaged with Pakistan.”
Correcetion: Hillary Clinton is the US Secretary for State, not Foreign Secretary. The error is regretted.

@Bill: Never stop remembering. You would always be paranoid and distracted and not think about things that give you economic progress. Then one day, weak, poor, hungry but armed you fall apart.
We will never get to know the real story behind this. Further normalization in relations is not the point. Point is that whether it will prove to be in favor of Pakistan or will it go against it.

Pakistan must act against terrorists on its soil in the entire country and not just in FATA. There are people in Pakistan (foreigners and Pakistanis) who want to kill innocent Pakistanis and people all around the world. It behooves me to say that it's the responsibility of the government of Pakistan including Pakistani military that terrorists in Pakistan are dealt with an iron fist. The terrorists are the murderers of humanity. They have sucked the blood of thousands of Pakistanis and want to spread their agenda throughout the world.
What kind of Islam is that? That's a horrible form of Islam that Pakistanis have to stop supporting. No country wants to come play a single sporting event in Pakistan because they see Pakistanis as supporting terrorism and being so cavalier about the folks who just want to kill, kill and kill. Enough is enough. It's time for Pakistan to act NOW, or face isolation. The world is not willing to put up with Pakistan's duplicity and sheer hypocrisy. The world is not willing to forgive inaction on the part of Pakistan. Terrorists have to go NOW. Pakistanis need to get the message NOW and nothing less is acceptable.
Rather than finding scapegoats in America, Pakistan can do a lot better by education its population where 40 million children are not going to school. Pakistan is a place where the government gives $5 billion in subsidies to crumbling railways, airlines, power, steel and other state run industries. That;s unacceptable. That money needs to be invested in the education sector and all the failing public enterprises need to be privatized. Pakistan is hitting an axe on its own feet. There shouldn't be any doubt about that. Dumping blame on America is only self defeating and its a monumental mistake because that only overlooks Pakistan's own shortcomings and failures. That's a fact. 40 million people not enrolled in schools is going to translate into a catastrophe for the country 3 decades from now. Karma is a horrible thing that will come back to hit Pakistan hard, extremely hard!
