Punjab land scam: Official faces inquiry over fake plots

Agriculture Deputy Director Muhammad Tahir Faizi accused of extortion by selling ghost residential plots.

LAHORE: The Chief Minister Punjab has ordered a high level inquiry against Agriculture Deputy Director Muhammad Tahir Faizi, for extorting millions of rupees by selling ghost residential plots, sources at the Chief Minister Secretariat said. The plots were sold through bogus affidavits which proved to be fake after confirmation through the revenue department, the victims said. Faizi, currently suspended from his post, is involved in more than seven criminal cases and facing court proceedings, according to those who had been sold the fake plots.
