Committee to oversee distribution of financial compensation to the heirs of the people who have died from dengue fever

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday that a committee has been set up to oversee the distribution of financial compensation to the heirs of the people who have died from dengue fever.


He said the committee had been told to collect the particulars of the deceased within three days after which distribution would begin.  He was speaking at a meeting to review measures taken to prevent the spread of dengue virus in the province.

Earlier, health and environment Secretaries gave briefing on preventive measures and treatment facilities at teaching hospitals and steps taken at used-tyre godowns in the city.  Meanwhile, four more people died of dengue in the city over the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 207 in the city and 231 in the Punjab. As many as 320 more people were diagnosed with the disease in the province over the last 24 hours.
