Pakistan will recognize new Libyan government: Gilani
Talking to newsmen in Lahore on Sunday Gilani said that Pakistan believes in the sovereignty and independence of all countries, and does not interfere in the internal affairs of any country.
As reported earlier in The Express Tribune, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had asked the government to recognise the National Transitional Council (NTC) government in Libya that has taken control of the country after toppling Muammar Qaddafi’s regime.
In a letter written to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar asserted that lives and jobs of over 55,000 Pakistani expatriates would be highly vulnerable if there is a further delay in recognising the council.
On August 25 this year, the Libyan envoy in Islamabad, Ibrahim al Ebad, removed the green coloured flag, associated with the Qaddafi regime, and hoisted the de facto flag of Libya, used by the National Transitional Council at the Libyan embassy in Islamabad. According to official sources, however, the Libyan ambassador hoisted the new flag without the prior approval of the Pakistani government.
“It was mandatory for the Libyan ambassador to obtain prior permission from Islamabad to hoist the new flag of his country,” an official told The Express Tribune while requesting anonymity.
Furthermore, Ebad informed the foreign ministry about his decision to recognise the NTC as the only ‘true and legitimate authority in Libya’ and them to follow suit. The ambassador also confirmed that his fellow Libyan diplomats in Islamabad have disassociated themselves from the Qaddafi administration and pledged their loyalties to the NTC.

As for imported army, Africa owe a lot to Libya and they see it as hero against super powers looting Africa.

@moise. If Gaddhaffi did so much for his people how come libyans are revolting against him. His 42 year rule collapsed within months and he had to import fighters from neighboring countries to fight his war. Libyans are charting their own course and history will not be kind to likes of Gaddaffi.
Gaddafi Stadium should be renamed Taliban Stadium, as a gesture in newly initiated peace talks with Taliban.
All these embarrassing U-turns in Pak Foreign Policy is because of the element of "sycophancy" guiding many of the decisions. Some international personalities Delhi has streets named after Abdul Kemal, Nasser, Nelson Mandela and Tito. These were colossuss -so no renaming necessary even in change in Foreign Policy over time.
My dear Pakistani, choose the perfect name of the stadium and write it to the editor in a letter.
Why have you guys stuck on a stadium? Why for Foreign Policy is formed? It is formed for a purpose which aims at peaceful and harmony either multilateral or bilateral relations with every country. It changes the way weather of the politics world and wind drifts from one horizon to another. Come on! Accept the reality of the system.

Gaddafi Stadium has its own history. The name must be retained as such. Removal of Gaddafi from the government is internal matter of Libya. Pakistan must recognize whichever the government is in place, if it is recognize by the people of that country whether Libya or any other state
Who cares ? Including Libya.
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Stadium is appropriate.

A U-turn in Pakistani foreign policy regarding it's allies is not something to be surprised about. In the duration of 24 hours the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan who was the apple of the Pak establishment's eye become a dreadful enemy in 2001. Now, Gaddafi Stadium will become Inqilabi Stadium.
The Pro-Qaddafi Libyan Flag was removed by the Libyan Ambassador in Islamabad on August 25, 2011 along with the other Libyan Embassies around the globe.
National Transitional Council’s (NTC) Flag is not the last Flag of Libya. Even this Flag will also be changed after the general elections will be held in Libya when a new democratic government will take place after the arrest or death of Qaddafi.
What about Qaddafi Stadium. We never learn from our follies - before there was Shahrae Pehlvi, Murree Road named after Iran' King Raza Shah, only to be reverted back to its' original name after his overthrow. Now that Qaddafi is gone, Lahore Cricket Stadium (LCS) or Lahore Cricket Ground (LCG) sound good.
