Weapons may malfunction if they are not handled properly and the ones held by police officials have started corroding due to a lack of proper care.
Weapon-cleaning supplies that were supplied to police stations, as well as the operations and investigation branches, are no longer being provided.
The head moharrar at a police station is responsible for the maintenance of weapons.
Mirza directed all police stations, training centres, offices and headquarters to devise a system under which the weapons are cleaned regularly. Mirza directed the operations and investigation branches to supply new arms and weapons to the force.
