An anti-terrorism court on Friday directed a deputy inspector general (DIG) to take legal action against Defence-A police personnel after an inquiry found that they had ‘tortured’ Ayesha Malik, daughter of PML-Q leader Malik Ahad, in custody.
A medical report was submitted in the court on Friday showing nine injury marks on her body “as a result of slapping, punching and beating with wooden rod”. The court had ordered a medical examination at the last hearing after Malik filed a petition for action against the police officials who had arrested her.
The station house officer and investigation officer of the station have already been suspended after a police inquiry found they had gone out of their way to add kidnapping for ransom to the charges against her. A Lahore High Court bench hearing Malik’s bail application has also ordered an inquiry against an anti-terrorism court judge who remanded her in police custody for 10 days.
Malik, who was arrested after being accused of kidnapping, says she is being victimised by the police on the directions of MNA Hamza Shahbaz, son of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. She says the two had a secret marriage and the case against her materialised only after he learned that she had video evidence of their nikah ceremony.

This is shame for the government to have these types of cases in the coundtry.I heard and read daily through print and emedia that police caught criminal, gange raper.kidnaper.target killer, blackmailer, purse snacher, corrupt policeman.corrupt politicin etc AND chief justice have taken notice.BUT BUT BUT all are being caught and investigated but nodt punished, you can not have good society without giving punishments.
@Spaniard: Perhaps waiting for a helicopter
its a bad thing to beat a woman .. but here i have to say that this is the personal issue between wife n husband y media highlight that much ... media n parliment dont hav any right to to start interfering any person personal life...... its there personal problem if she want justice than she go to court dont make it political issue now our country politics round against person wofe, daught bahu is this civilized nation do..?
The Sharafat of the Shariff brothers are now in the open. Hamza should face the accusation as a man and not hide behind his dads office chair.
@Mirza: No! I m not justifying this at all, I m just throwing light on other possible reasons for this incident. A woman should not be treated this way even if she is a murderer.
@Ahmed Malik: Are you justifying the arrest of one's daughter and her beatings at the hands of Sharif govt, a political revenge? Is this the way to deal with political opponents? Are they not man enough to deal with the father only who is their actual opponent, not his daughter? The more we take this kind of behavior from this power drunk family the worse they are going to behave. The fed govt and SC must act to stop this vicious revenge on innocent women by the rich and powerful.
What a joke and Sharifs want to start a movement against the Fed Govt? Punjab govt is fair and transparent. The LHC is independent to the extent that its CJ is representing Qadri in front of his judges who he himself appointed and supervised. The Punjab police are independent and the MNA Aqeeel can flee the police station after his supporter's attack. Punjab is ruled by one family, no wonder the S. Punjab wants a new province. Where is the SC and its CJ or they are afraid that PML-N might attack the SC if they do not follow the dictats of Nawaz Sharif.
Wow...
I would expect the media to be all over this...
People Com'on look at the both sides of the picture Malik Ahad, Ayesha Malik's father fought and won provincial election with PML-N ticket from my area in Lahore. After winning the election Malik Ahad floor crossed to PML-Q and hatred towards him rose in the locals. During his time at PML-Q, he opposed Nawaz Sharif on every ground, Sharifs became his political enemies, Later when Shahbaz Sharif became Chief Minister, he took polical revenge by demolishing half of 'AHAD PLAZA' on kalma Chowk for allegedly being illegally constructed which was owned by Malik Ahad. This secret marriage thing must be the part of this political/feudal enimity.
hmmm secret marriage...isnt it a two way affair!!!!
Both son and father are of same category.
@FAZ: Though you may be right about "any Pak politician" you do know that your statement does not apply to MQM. People do accuse them for many other things but not about being "feudal." Also, you will not find anyone appointed in MQM, or in the government on their behalf, on the basis of being related to the Party Chief or anyone in the leadership. It does not hurt to call a spade a spade. Also, when you see something good you must point it out.
Shahbaz Sharif where are you now? Take notice of this too.
Law is n0t for the Law Makers.... They talk about RIGHTS of nation but they dont give RIGHTS to thr own spouse... And nobody asks WHY?
U dig down any "Pak" politician and u will find a feudal inside! Nothing new. All are same. They all have same feudal mentality and they can do whatever they want!
Justice should be served to Ayesha Malik. Hamza Shahbaz son of Shahbaz Sharif should be arrested. Violation of Human rights in Punjab is more than any provinces. In 2010 alone 2,581 rape cases were reported. http://www.jang.com.pk/jang/oct2011-daily/13-10-2011/u84630.htm
This is the real face of PML(N) so called democratic Punjab Govt. whose CM is claimed to be Khadim-e-Aala instead of Chief Minister, is also doing same as the rule here Might is Right.
Police should take Hamza Shahbaz into custody until the court absolves him when evidence is shown. If Hamza was carrying on an illicit affair then sections of Hadood Ordinance apply which should be implemented, regardless of Daddy and Uncle's status.
