Tribal clash: Man killed over land dispute

SUKKUR: A man identified as Mubarak Jakhrani and his four-year-old son Ali Bagh were shot dead by a group of men in the Datar Jakhrani village, near the Sindh-Balochistan border. On Thursday night, men raided the village and opened fire at Jakhrani, said the police. They added that the men managed to escape before the authorities could get there. The bodies were taken to a basic health unit in Buxapur. No case was registered when this report was filed. Some sources claim that the men had tried to rob Jakhrani’s house. Others claim that Jakhrani and his son were killed because of a land dispute between two subgroups of the Jakhrani tribes.
