The Lahore High Court rejected a report containing detailed comments regarding the highly unpopular US drone strikes on Pakistani soil, submitted by the ministry of foreign affairs as a response to an earlier petition.
The high court also directed the ministry to file a “satisfactory” reply which should also highlight a methodology to implement the resolution unanimously passed by Parliament against the unilateral strikes in May.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed observed that the ministry in its report had marked “no comments” and gave no complete answers to all the questions raised in the petition being heard by the court.
The judge directed the deputy attorney general to ensure that a logical and comprehensive reply is submitted by the ministry. The hearing was adjourned till October 27.
Earlier, head of Jamatud Dawa Hafiz Muhammad Saeed had filed a petition in the high court, through his counsel AK Dogar, requesting the implementation of the parliamentary resolution against US drone strikes. He asked the court that the federal government be directed to make public all the information of public importance regarding the drones strikes, especially the secret ‘deals’ with the US — keeping in view article 19-A of the Constitution which entitles every citizen of Pakistan to have access to all information.
The petitioner asked the court to declare that pre-emptive strikes by foreign countries were not permitted under international law. He said the resolution passed by a joint session of parliament on May 14, 2011 needed to be implemented.

@nothing but the truth/ ashamed: no way bro, i agree with you. Sorry if my msg suggested i got upset. Peace :D
I fail to understand this hypocrisy. Everyone knows that it is the Army that gave the airbases in Pakistan for the drones to take off, the ISI per its own claims is providing the intelligence for drone attacks and all secret agreements with USA were entered by Musharraf as Army Chief. LHC and Hafiz Sayeed should have petitioned the Army and iSI to disclose all information instead of petitioning the Government which is only performing its democratic duties to the Army and ISI and obaying their commands.
@Ali Noor: I was also being sarcastic. However I did not have any intention of upsetting you. Sorry, if I did.
Mian Saeed. Just watch out for drones & run or hide as fast as you can. You know are next on the list.
@ashamed: i knw how the cogs of our system work bro....i was being sarcastic.
@Ali Noor Any one, with the support of Pakistani Deep State, does not need to have any form of scrutiny. They are God's own people.
Sure why not....and while they are at it, the courts should ask hafiz to provide jud's/ let's financial statements to the AG of pakistan so that he can see how much of his charitiable funds really go to charities?? Surely charities are liable to some sort of financial scrutiny??
Hafiz saeed, the founder of Laskare tayyaba and Jamaat ud dawa, the terrorist groups involved in the attack on the Kashmir and Indian Parliament is worried that the Pakistani parliament's resolutions are not being implemented. A touch of irony here!
Well seems like LHC Judges were looking for "unknown unknowns".
A terrorist is asking a court of civilized world to tell a civilized country to stop attack on his fellow terrorist. If civilized world is so appealing than why not ask fellow terrorist to stop violence and drones will disappear. There are no drones over other civilized countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, Mauritius etc.
Of all the Great Democrats, parliamentarians & Liberals who have given “blood” for this country, a Mullah has come up for the implementation of law and to protect the sovereignty of the Country. And a court has to take action. Rather cynical.
I think Hafiz Sahib should personally visit USA and file this petition in US courts. He will surely find justice.
Dear Hafiz Saeed, What about the Inocent people in Pakistan which are killed by Cruel Talibans.
Asking for information to be made public? What makes his request so special opposed to the repeated attempts by people who are actually respectable? Also, they are not preemptive. They're a reaction to attacks and enemy evasion strategy. They exist as a part of an operation not yet concluded. This is just a sign of effective pressure. They're trying to be smart but, it's really not their thing. They should just stick to suicide.
i am sure drone attacks cant be stopped by such resolutions or court directions .......it is known to all and sundry that it is just lip service.our security establishment should find out the root cause of the problem.........and try to solve the US concerns in connection with the tribal areas or the haqqani network whatsoever........

"the ministry in its report had marked “no comments” and gave no complete answers to all the questions raised in the petition being heard by the court." This government knows the time delaying tactics very well.
What are they wasting each other's time
the issue of Drones was not even discussed yesterday during the meeting with Marc Grossman.
So much for Parliamentary Resolutions...........
Hafiz is now worried that USA drone is soon going to target him for his role in Mumbai carnage. Good luck Hafiz. or should I say "Khuda hafiz"
The resolution needs to be implemented, not by the court though.
