President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the Ministry of Interior to take stern action against elements involved in incidents of target killings and sectarian violence in Balochistan. He also stressed upon immediate measures to provide protection to pilgrims travelling from Quetta to Iran.
“The heavy hand of the government will fall on all those elements behind the attacks on members of Hazara community,” Zardari said in a meeting with a delegation of the Hazara Community.
He directed Interior Minister Rehman Malik to take up the issue with the Balochistan government and render all possible assistance to them in order to put an end to the tide of violence against the community.
The president further directed Malik to proceed to Quetta immediately, if requested by the provincial government.
He called for a report on the arrests made so far and registered progress in the cases. He also asked for the submission of reasons in case no arrests had been made so far or in case no cases had been initiated.

as a president, its Mr. Zaradari's duty to have knowledge of whats going on in every part of Pakistan. we Hazara people hope that real actions will be taken regarding target killing and culprits will be arrested and hanged till death as they deserve only death.
He himself is a shia and its his moral duty to protects Shias of Pakistan against sectarian violence.
Mr. President Thanks for your verbal support though it is to little too late, Firm and decisive action should have been taken long ago. Just giving statements dosent do much for the vicitims nor does it acts a deterent.
Thanks President for your support of innocent and poor Hazara people who have been the victims of social unrest for long time. If you show some support to minorities, God and the people will love you. I did not like you before but your decision showing that you care about innocent people has changed my perception of you. God Bless
