Indian police say Delhi holiday bomb plot foiled
More than five kilograms of explosives were recovered on Wednesday evening from the car in Ambala in the northern state of Haryana, Deputy Commissioner of Police Arun Kampani told reporters in New Delhi.
The seizure came barely two weeks before the country celebrates the Hindu festival of light, Diwali.
Kampani said police had acted on intelligence that a unit of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group had provided the explosives to a Sikh separatist outfit who planned to trigger the bomb in New Delhi.
"Ambala was the place where the explosives were meant to be exchanged," he said.
Police also recovered five detonators and two timers from the car outside the Ambala railway station.
The LeT was blamed for the 2008 Mumbai attacks that left 166 dead in India's financial capital.
The last militant strike in Delhi was in September when a bomb outside the High Court killed 14 people – the latest in a series of blasts that has shaken public confidence in the government's counter-terror capabilities.
Experts say Indian security agencies, and in particular the police, suffer from underfunding, a lack of training and poor intelligence gathering and sharing.

I see this news reported in many Pakistani newspapers (Dawn, Express Tribune, The News)but not in any Indian newspaper. Could it be fake news just like the Moin Akhtar news turned out to be fake? Perhaps the intention is to undermine the credibility of the few English language newspapers in Pakistan who are the voice of sanity?

It is a known fact that Pakistan encouraged the Khalistan movement in Punjab. Even Pakistani authorities have accepted this that they used to do that in the past. Perhaps it is not past tense and is still continuing?

@Sad but true: If you've got the means to check please check old editions of Indian newspapers, it's always before Diwali that these false claims by Delhi police surface. In most of these cases its the innocent Kashmiris' who are made the scapegoats. I don't spend my entire day loafering through Indian websites but still I know my facts before commenting.
what terrorists want is they don't want to see us prosperous.In the past ,they used to attack us as Mughals or Ghori or Mamod Ghani or Genghis khan. Now a days ,they do it as terrorists .But consequence is same . Mughals perished,Ghajni's Afghanistan is a graveyard now .Similarly Those who resisted conquered the war.Just like Israel .
