Kashmir Issue: Pakistani reference irrelevant, says India
The Pakistani reference to “the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir (that) is unwarranted and completely irrelevant to the work of this committee,” Indian representative R Ravindra, first secretary at India’s UN mission, said.
“I would like to remind the distinguished representative of Pakistan that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India,” he said during the debate on Tuesday, according to the report.
“The Indian constitution guarantees the fundamental rights to all its citizens. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have expressed their free will by participating in free and fair elections held at regular intervals,” Ravindra was quoted as saying.

Assalam-o-Allaikum Warahmatullah.This India's statement proves that India is insincere and dishonest to resolve Kashmir issue through peace talks and it is impossible to understand that why Pakistani leaders are wasting time and money on peace talks with Indian leaders and how long Indian leaders shall fool and deceive the world especially Indian Occupied Kashmir people and Pakistani leaders?
Kashmir is more peaceful than most parts of Pakistan and record number of tourists visited Kashmir during this summer season, breaking past ten years record. People in Kashmir thank the Almighty daily that they are not part of restive Pakistan.
^^^^ Interestingly, the allegation is applicable to Balochistan and NWFP. Add to that list bomb blast, sectarian violence, Ahmedia genocide, Shia genocide, Christian discrimination, Sikh discrimination, Hindu discrimination, Child suicide bomber, gun culture, no law and order that makes the allegation perfect for those provinces. Its not that these doesn't happen in karachi & Punjab. But, those regions deserve a special mention...... Oh yeah, I know. We worry about kashmir more than pakistan. But, that is the problem as international magazines are repeatedly pointing out. Worry about pakistan and get it up and running.
Mass Graves, rapes, torture, disappearances, murder, crimnal charge. These are the few key humanrights India gives its citizens in Kashmir.
The key point here is about free and fair elections being held. That quashes most of the Pakistani arguments.
If Pakistanis dont think Elections are the true barometer of opinion of the people then why bother with them in their Country?
