Judicial remand : Man sent to jail for raping a minor

KARACHI: A suspect, Mohammad Tariq, was remanded into police custody by Judicial Magistrate East Javaid Iqbal for sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl when she identified him during an identification parade. He was charged with raping the girl in Korangi. According to the prosecution, 26-year-old Tahir caught the girl in a street near her house in Noorani Basti, Baddar Town, when she was on her way to a shop last Monday. He allegedly took her to a rooftop of a nearby seminary and raped her. The victim’s father lodged a case against him.
